BioCharacter history- When she was eight years old, Tatum witnessed the battle between Apocalymon and the eight Chosen children from Japan as well as a short time before that the saw a Gorillamon climbing the Empire State Building. Like most of those who saw the battle, the memories of the battle went away eventually. Unknown to her at the time she also saw the battle between Diablomon and Omega around nine months later along with several others across the world. Tatum, an Irish-American girl spent most of her life unknown to her. She never knew her father, and was the youngest of three children. When she was eight, her mother and her sister and brother moved to Manhatten, New York. In the autumn of 2001, she and five others (though she did not know this at the time) were pulled into another dimension called the Digital World.
Alone for a few weeks except for a flying purple 'pig' following her around, she stumbled around a graveyard of undead digimon and encountered the leader of the region: Boogeymon. He claimed that a group of 'no good humans and digimon' where attacking his forces with little reason. Though she was a little skeptical, she agreed and on a few occasions engaged the other humans in battle. (named Michael, Maria, Steve, Sam, and Lou) After a few battles and getting a talk in, Michael explains what they have been doing: Boogeymon had sent her to delay them while he attempted to use a Shadow Crystal to evolve himself. Realizing her mistake, the now six New York Chosen attacked the remainder of Boogeymon's army. With no defenses they were easily able to defeat Boogeymon. Before deleting fully, he claimed to return some day and kill them all. After the battle a portal opened up, and the group were forced to say goodbye to their digimon friends.
This wouldn't be the last time that Tatum would encounter a Chosen. During the Christmas of 02, digimon began invading all over the world. She coordinated with the other NY Chosen and met Daisuke, leader of the Japanese Chosen and another member Mimi who she met once or twice before. She had never seen a Digiport before then, which was a gate between both Earth and the Digital World. She cheerfully introduced herself a mere second before Mimi's parents arrived, worried about their daughter's safety. Things eventually returned to normal and soon the Digimon were allowed to remain on Earth after the defeat of Belial Vamdemon as everyone was aware of them. Tatum spent the next six years going to school, doing normal teenager things until she recieved word from the sage of the Digital World Gennai, that Boogeymon had returned and evolved to his perfect stage: Phelesmon. The group minus Mimi decides to attempt jogress evolution to try to stop whatever Phelesmon's plan was. During the course of this, Tatum and Tsukaimon get sent to this other Digital World.
